Vic Sadot’s Planète Folle News...

The new BROADSIDES & RETROSPECTIVES CD was officially released on January 29, 2005 in honor of Tom Paine's birthday, the author of Common Sense, a little pamphlet published in 1776 that gave the rationale for, and the spark to, the American Revolution. You can read our detailed press release in English or French.

You are welcome to explore the new section of Vic's website where you can sample and buy songs or the entire CD. BROADSIDES & RETROSPECTIVES is a blend of the “Best of 25 years of Vic Sadot's Crazy Planet/Planète Folle Bands", as well as some new topical songs by Vic like Mad Cowboy Disease and Are You A Citizen? Much of the retrospective comes from the poems of Vic's father Jean-Henri Sadot. Five of them are set to music and appear on this compilation. Vic set White Clay Creek, In Normandy When Breezes Blow, and Recuerdo de Los Pireneos to music. Dean A. Banks set to music and sings Jean-Henri Sadot's poem, A Little Girl's Bedtime, a poem about a father's warm sentiment for his daughter's innocence and antics. Meanwhile The Statue of Liberty was set to music by Lionel Bernard of Normandy, France. His buddy Jérôme Panier sings with conviction and plays the bass guitar. We added four musician and singing parts to the mix here in the USA.
